When Jesus discipled His followers He intentionally led through a process. Through the discipleship process Jesus taught them how to think, act and invest differently. In 2008, we are launching a discipleship strategy in which will intentionally lead individuals through a process which will aid them in becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ.
Some of the components of the FBCC Discipleship Strategy are as follows:
1. Neighborhood Small Groups (Taking the church to the community)
2. Alignment (Focusing on one topic a week)
3. S.E.R.V.I.C.E. (Giving a foundation and direction for small groups)
4. Personal Assessment (Providing a measurable method to assess one's spiritual growth)
5. Discipleship Diamond (Giving intentional direction to the spiritual growth process)
6. Leadership Development (Intentionally developing leaders through the Discipleship Diamond)

Training for the 2008 launch of the FBCC Discipleship Strategy is currently underway. Dr. Wright is currently teaching Sunday and Wednesday evening seminars on church leadership and discipleship. These classes will equip the students to host small groups in their homes, facilitate small groups in the community, and teach various "bases" of the discipleship diamond. The full blown FBCC Discipleship Strategy is set to launch early in 2008 with the launch of FBCC small groups in several communities and the discipleship diamond. |
