Curious what Jesus and the Bible say about mental health? You’re not alone!
Please join us for a community discussion on faith and mental health on Sunday, October 12 at 5:00 PM at First Baptist Centre/The ROC. The event is free, and everyone is welcome!
Dr. Steven Fain, a therapist with 40 years of clinical experience and a doctorate in ministry, will facilitate the discussion along with seasoned social worker Laura Browder, licensed professional counselor Bill Jordan, and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Officer Greg Walker.
At 4:00 PM, doors will open for resource tables where you can connect with representatives from CED Mental Health, NAMI, GriefShare, Recover Out Loud, and more. Speakers and pastors will also be available after the program for questions and conversations.
The panel will address many common questions about Christianity and mental health, such as:
▪️ Is it okay for Christians to seek therapy or take medication for mental health issues?
▪️ How do I reconcile my faith with feelings of anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts?
▪️ Are there Christian resources or support groups for mental health?
Millions of people in America are affected by mental illness. It’s not a taboo topic anymore. Let’s talk about it together!
