About "MY 10" SMALL GROUPS

Because of the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing, our church might not be able to have traditional Sunday School for many more weeks. My10 self-organized small groups offer those seeking connection with the body of Christ an opportunity to participate in Bible study and "church life" as an alternative to Sunday School during this unprecedented time.

"My 10" small groups should plan to begin meeting together starting the week of May 10.

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR OWN "MY 10"

STEP 1: INVITING GROUP MEMBERS

Once you have decided to organize your own "My10" small group, start by inviting 10 or less of your friends, family, or church family to join you in forming a group (your group may have less than 10 people). Current FBCC Sunday School classes may wish to divide into several "My 10" small groups.

STEP 2: DEVELOPING A SCHEDULE

Develop your own schedule personalized to fit the needs of your small group. We highly encourage you to meet on a weekly basis to maintain a strong sense of community.

STEP 3: FINDING A MEETING PLACE

Before creating a "My10" small group, be sure to determine a suitable venue for your group to meet each week. A few great places to meet include: a group member's home; one of the many facilities at The ROC or FBCC; or at any facility large enough to allow for at least 6 feet of distance between group members (just be sure that you have permission to use a location prior to meeting).

You may reserve a space at The ROC or at First Baptist Centre by contacting our church office.

Call us at (256)-927-3316 or email Tina McCord at tina@fbc-centre.org.

STEP 4: ACQUIRING CURRICULUM

Once you have formed your group, Bible study guides will be provided for your group for free by First Baptist Centre. Contact our church office at (256) 927-3316 and let us know the number of guides your group will need.

STEP 5: PROVIDING CHILDCARE

Your group is free to decide on childcare options that will work for your particular group (just be sure you practice social distancing in your childcare). Remember that children count towards your 10 person limit.

OTHER HELPFUL TIPS

Think about providing face masks for the comfort and safety of your "My10" group members.
