LOCAL MISSION OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

• AWANA - a weekly fun and exciting Gospel-centered outreach program designed to bring families together for a time of Scripture learning, team-building, and discipleship.


• Summer in the Park - a Gospel-centered fun and exciting outdoor summer activity for children and tweens, this event combines the resources of area churches to take the Gospel to our local parks.


• Snacks-in-a-Sack - a community-wide food program for school-aged children.


• Walk through Bethlehem - a Gospel-centered Christmas outreach event for families and children.


• Walk with Jesus - a Gospel-centered Easter outreach event for families and children.


• Vacation Bible School - a Gospel-centered week-long outreach event for children including Bible learning, crafts, games, music, missions’ education and worship.


• Van/Bus Ministry - a ministry to help transport children, teens, and adults to various activities and events.


• Tribes - a summer outreach program for youth.


• Fields of Faith - a Community-wide, student-led event where students challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ


• Celebrate Recovery - a discipleship program to help individuals overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups.


• Jail Ministry - a weekly opportunity to take the Gospel to the incarcerated.


• Extended Family - a support system for families of prisoners developed by CFBC member, Laure Clemons. The ministry includes:


• Extended Family Resource Database – FREE valuable resources designed to help individuals and families throughout the incarceration and beyond.


• Extended Family for Kids - A curriculum-based program for small groups of children who have a loved one incarcerated. It includes fun, flexible lessons that build self-esteem and communication skills, decrease stress, address anger issues, and increase a student's ability to make good choices.


• Going Home - a two-hour, interactive Workshop to help to re-enter inmates and their families adjust to life on the outside.


• Going Home for Professionals - a free workshop for law enforcement, judiciary, attorneys, correctional personnel, and volunteers working with returning inmates and their families.


• REACH - Reaching Every Available Cherokee Home - a weekly visitation program concentrating on welcoming first-time visitors as well as new and prospective members, answering questions and sharing the Gospel with them in their home.

• Travelling Vacation Bible School - We take this fun and exciting program to churches and communities that may lack the staff and resources to host their own VBS.


• Mission-Fuge - Summer Missions Camp for Youth.


• Carpenters for Christ


• Pine Knot Community Church - a church plant located in the southeastern corner of the Kentucky/Tennessee Appalachian Region – On the first weekend of each month, a team travels to Pine Knot Laundromat to share the Gospel message and to minister to the local community through the “quarters” and “Lord’s Storehouse” ministries.


• Alaska Missions Activities & Partnerships


• Alaska Missions & Retreats – a partnership with former NAMB missionary, Brenda Crim that includes mission opportunities such as Salmon Frenzy, Nome Women’s Conference, Iditarod Outreach, Kenai Sports Camps, Kenai Construction, Adult Workers and Cooks, and more.


• Agape Fellowship Church Plant- 2019 will mark the end of a three-year commitment to partner with Pastor Nathan Buck, a NAMB missionary, and his congregation to establish a church in Palmer, Alaska.


• MOSAIC Campus Ministry at the University of Anchorage, Alaska, led by NAMB missionary Scott Belmore - a ministry to UAA students.

INTERNATIONAL MISSION OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

• International Mission Board (IMB). - We are a sending church – several of our members are currently serving overseas as full-time missionaries or are participating in short-term mission projects. As individuals and as a congregation, we participate with them through prayer, giving, and going.


• International Commission - teams travel to an international location where a host church or association will lead them in evangelistic outreach and discipleship in a designated area.


• 2019 Project TBD


• Uganda Thunder – Pennies for Posho - each year we are one of many churches that host the Uganda Thunder, a touring choir created to give these children a voice and as advocates for the 2.7 million orphans living in Uganda.


• Operation Christmas Child – OCC boxes are filled by AWANA club members, Sunday School Classes, Small Groups and individuals and are then delivered to the Cherokee Baptist Association which serves as a relay site.
