Charles Ellis Woodfin, age 84, of Leesburg, AL, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Floyd Medical Center. Rev. Woodfin was born in Rome, GA on July 7, 1935, son of the late Ellis Woodfin and the late Sara Scott Woodfin. Charles was ordained into the ministry and served faithfully in 14 churches across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia for 62 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Barday Woodfin, by a daughter, Charlene Woodfin, by his sister, Wynessa Woodfin Wyatt, by a brother, Dwight Woodfin, and by a nephew, Kevin Woodfin. Survivors include his son, Matthew Woodfin (April), Cedar Bluff, AL; grandson, Christopher Woodfin, Madison, AL; granddaughter, Charlene Woodfin, Gaylesville, AL; brother, Wendell Woodfin (Joyce), Rome; “Chosen Love”, Shelby Bruce; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. (CDT) at First Baptist Church of Centre, 373 East Main Street, Centre, AL 35960. The Rev. Eddie Nation and the Rev. Kyle Woodfin will officiate. Interment will follow on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 2:00p.m. (EDT) at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Blvd., Atlanta GA 30318. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Centre on Monday from 3:00 p.m. (CDT) until time for the service. Flowers will be accepted.
