COVID-19 In light of the past 24 hours, we have been assessing the current situation regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic without anxiety nor fear, but with measured, proactive listening and learning. After discussions with our Medical Team, Local doctors and the Alabama State Health Department, a decision has just been reached, along with other churches in our county, to cancel Services this week, March 15 and March 22, at First Baptist Church Centre. This will also include Wednesday Prayer Service, Awana, and Youth events on March 18 and 25. We will re-evaluate later whether additional services will need to be canceled. At this time, let us remember two things: First, while our safety is a matter of good judgement, our security is found in Christ. This is not a time to be afraid or anxious of what the future holds, because we know Who holds the future. Second, the Church is not a building but the People. This is a time to ask ourselves, "How can we be the Church outside the walls of the facility?' We are blessed to have streaming services and past services on our website. Please feel free to visit www.fbc-centre.org and watch a past sermon this week. We can also considering making phone calls and checking on our other members, send an encouraging note, especially our elder members. The ROC will also be closed starting at noon today for at least two weeks. We will also reevaluate at a later time to determine when the ROC will reopen. Shepherd's Fold Daycare will remain open at this time, however temperatures will be taken daily and if your child has a fever they will not be allowed in.
